Free Places to Spend Quality Time in Orlando
In Orlando, summertime would be rainy days there. So, during those times, you cannot spend a lot of time under the sun. But they are not the worst time to go to Orlando and take a break, though. There are still a lot of free places you spend quality time together with your family and friends especially when it rains. Try to go over the ones I have listed here and see for yourself if they will work for you as they worked for me;
Five places you can freely go during your vacation especially when it rains in Orlando;
#1. The Orlando Museums
Education is fun and educational places are as fun as the beaches. If you are a person who loves antique arts exhibits, then you have plenty of choices whenever you are in Orlando. Besides, these places could be good shelters when it rains. Here is the list of the museums you may want to spend quality time;
Orlando Science Center - with 10 exhibit halls and 4 floors, this place could be perfect for you. But try not to get scared whenever you are greeted with live alligators and turtles. If ever you were wondering where the world's largest 8-story movie screen located, it is in Orlando Science Center. Orlando Museum of Art - Thursdays are worth-celebrating even in Orlando Museum of Art; it has a lot of activities held during that day. Aside from that you may enjoy some of its events like Free Admission Days, Festival of Trees and Summer Camps. Orange County History Center - have you heard of the Mosquito County? It is the original name of the Orange County. If you want to learn about the heritage of Central Florida, this center will cater everything you need to know.
#2. The Public Libraries
Not only does Orlando full of beautiful places and luxurious hotels, it also has plenty of public libraries which are open for everyone. Most of them do not require a library card, so you can definitely enjoy doing a quick research, reading your favorite literature books or just waiting for the rain to subside. You should know that Seminole has 5 branches and 15 for Orange County. So, there are a lot of options to choose from.
If you are also looking to buy some used books or magazines, Casselberry in Seminole County houses a little store in the first floor which sells old vinyl albums, magazines and books. You just need to dig a little deeper to find what you might be looking for.
#3. The Theaters
Staying in one of the theaters in Orlando could also be a great idea if you do not want to be stranded in your room when it rains. You will be amazed to know that the place has 26 theaters which offer first class entertainment for movie viewers. Most of the theaters in Orlando are built to hold more viewers but aside from that, they all have high quality video and sound systems. If you want to watch your favorite movie in the world's largest movie screen, you should go to Orlando Science Center.
If you are looking for really good place to watch movies you cannot just find in the streets, you should visit Enzian Theater; it has Dolby SR Surround Sound system which goes alongside its 33' x 14' wide screen. It is just a great place to stay with your friends and family and wait 'til the rain runs out.
#4. Orlando Malls and Shopping Area
Let's go shopping. Perhaps one of the most enjoyable parts of your vacation is shopping. It is during this time that you will be able to gather and buy things which serve as your remembrances. Orlando can just offer you much of options to choose where to do shopping. There are sixteen malls or shopping areas you can find in Orlando not counting the smaller boutiques and department stores.
However, if you feel you need to do shopping in the exclusive malls, Mall at Millenia can cater you anything with its 150 shops. Aside from that you will be able to witness a shopping mall with spectacular architecture. This will truly make your shopping in Orlando more memorable than others.
#5. The Flea Market
One of the inexpensive ways to spend quality time while having a vacation in Orlando is to go to any of the flea markets closer to the place you are staying. If you are worried about the rain, don't be; flea markets are fully covered that there is no way you will get wet. You have two options; the Flea World which is the largest flea market in Florida and the Renninger's Farmers and Flea Market, home of the best antiques you can find in the country.
The Flea World can offer you 1500 vendors to browse through and 400 from the Renninger's. This simply means that you will not be able to find the things you are looking for within a day. You can have thousands of options on the products you like best.
Forget about the rain! There are a lot of things you can do in Orlando to enjoy your vacation with your friends, family or lover. Trust me; Orlando Florida is just the place where great happiness and enjoyment await. So, if you are looking for places to spend the best time of your life, consider the five places mentioned here.
